Beethoven
at Old Main

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, six local pianists gathered to record a virtual concert at Old Main Historical & Community Arts Center in Galesville, WI. Each played an individually selected piece of music from Beethoven's amazing repertoire.

Welcome to Old Main

We would like to thank you for visiting our website. Old Main is over 150 years old. In its past it served as the “Main” Building of the Gale College Campus. Over the course of the building’s life, it has served many different uses and was owned by many organizations. All of which, helped preserve Old Main for everyone to enjoy today and in the future.

Our mission is to establish and maintain a regional cultural center which preserves the past, promotes the arts, and inspires ideas through personal & community involvement.

Our History & Genealogy Committee catalogs, preserves, and displays artifacts and historical documents from throughout the region. The entire historical library is available online at WWW.OLDMAIN.ORG for easy access. Our Gale Star Music & Art Series offers concerts appealing to a broad range of musical interests. Gale Star proudly features many professional, aspiring, and student musicians, a monthly art display, and drama productions. Our Summer Concert Series offers free outdoor concerts in June, July, and August. As always, we could not continue to operate Old Main without your continued support, support from our community, and the aid of our dedicated volunteers. We truly thank you!

As we are a non-profit organization our resources are always small, especially since Old Main is operated almost entirely by volunteers. In order for us to continue offering our current events and to host new events, we need your help. Please visit the “Donations” page or click the button above to donate whatever you are comfortable with and can afford. Whether $1 or $100,000, anything and everything will help Old Main now and in the future.
